Happy 13th Birthday Kelsie Lynn!!!

Happy Birthday Kelsie! This is what Kelsie has been doing for the last 2 days. We got Rock Band for Christmas and she has taken a liking to the drums. This is her right now. Still sitting there in her coat from going out to breakfast with her Dad this morning. Nate has made it a tradition to take the girls out to breakfast on their birthday day. They love it! She doesn't even need anything for her birthday, she is happy with what she got for Christmas. :)
Hope you have a great day Kelsie! Thanks for being such a special daughter and for all of the fun you bring into our family. We LoVe you!!

Hot Chocolate Bar

I am trying to catch up. I haven't blogged in a while. I helped with a wedding reception last Sat. night for Nate's cousins daughter and she wanted a Hot Chocolate Bar and Hot Wassail. Here is a picture of the toppings and the table for the Hot Chocolate. It turned out really cute and was perfect for a snowy day. Here is a picture that I just added of Michelle and Jamie. Her dress was so pretty. So her.

What Holiday drink are you?

You Are Cider
Your holiday personality is cozy.
The holidays are your favorite time to stay home, stay warm, and spend time with those you love.

You don't need a lot to make you happy over the holidays.
Seeing an old relative or favorite holiday film is enough to make your day.
What Holiday Drink Are You?
I know it's been a while since I posted. We have had a busy week. I will post pics soon. We hope you all are having a great Christmas Season. And no, I never got Christmas cards out either. Sorry!

Snow Day!!

It's a snow day at our house today! It is finals week at the high school and they still called school. We are not surprised though because we were out last night in it and in town they had alot more snow than we do.
It's looking pretty dark and gloomy and COLD out there.
Nate even got to go and pull someone out of the snow last night when they slid into a ditch, which he loves to do!! (hu hum shannon)

A Night in Bethlehem

We had our ward christmas party last night. Here are some pics for you all to enjoy. I love this pic of Nic and Mindy. (click on it to make it bigger)
Kelsie got to be the angel and had to stand here forever with her arms out. It was so cute though because Shannon told me afterwards, that when she came out and had the spotlight on her Madison, said, "she looks so beautiful."
Here is another couple of Mary and Joseph and the wise men. (for you Chittock girls)

And had to put this one in here just for Joy and her sister. :)

Online Radio

Have any of you heard of this? Pandora online radio It's awesome! You set up a free account and then click on music you like and it creates play lists according to your taste. I am listening to Christmas music on it. Very cool! I put in Believe by Josh Groban and it plays all different stuff.

Thanksgiving 2008 in San Diego

We went to San Diego for Thanksgiving. It was very fun to be with my WHOLE family. Had to get some pics of the feast. Everyone can't wait to dig in! Everything was so yummy!!
The kids outside. Mom joined them for a bit.
The teenagers...
I think this is tradition that we get a picture of all the kids on Grandma and Grandpas bed watching tv. We have some good ones over the past few years. We never plan it either, but we seem to find them doing this watching some movie at some point.

Crazy grandkids!!

Kelsie, Kortnee, Jaydon, Cameron, Brooke and Mikayla

This is what you get to do on Thanksgiving when you are in San Diego at Grandma and Grandpas house. The water was cold, but the kids didn't care.

Champions Basketball Party

Kelsie and Brooke had their basketball party for their school team. This is Kelsie and her friend Morgan and their coach Dylan. He gave them their trophies and is talking about them. They have played basketball together since they were in kindergarten. They are really good and he is saying how so many coaches commented to him after they played the other team how good these 2 are. I hate to say it, but without these 2, we would have not had an undefeated season. They did score most of the points, but they always passed the ball to others and tried to help teach others. It got to the point in some games that he would tell them that they could not shoot!! He would play a little game of cat and mouse. We would be up by a bunch of points and he would pull these 2 out and the other teams would catch up and he knew he could put these 2 in and get ahead again. Sometimes he let it get a little too close and not too much time left on the clock. They would be sitting on the bench begging to go back in. It was a little stressful some games, but they always managed to win it.
The whole team!

Brooke and Kelsie are in the front on the left. Good job girls!

Bam!!

So... do you want to see what practicing your overhand serve for volleyball against the house gets you?And that would happen to be MY bedroom window that one of my daughters who shall ramain nameless (middle) did yesterday. :)
It's been a busy week. We had 2 extra girls since Wed. till Sat. night stay with us. Missy and Owens little girls. Lots going on and now I have to get a bunch of vinyl done. I hate when I know people are waiting for it from me, but I just can't get to it. I gotta get busy!!

Pumpkin carving...

I was just going through a bunch of pictures and didn't realize these were on here. I thought I'd document Nate's creative side. His perfectionism also comes out on projects like this too. :) He worked and worked on this till I finally had to kick him off the kitchen table because we had people coming over for dinner.

It did turn out very cute though. This was Kelsie's pumpkin and after telling us he hated to carve pumpkins, I think he decided it wasn't so bad after all.

Brooke 5th grade - Batwoman
Kelsie 8th grade - Hippie
Kylie, Junior - Batwoman
Kelsie and some of her friends with the witch's brew we made for her class. This is probably like the 5th year in a row I have done this for their classes. It's always a big hit!
Brooke and one of her friends with witch's brew for her class. We hope it doesn't rain tonight. It's been raining off and on today and everyone is planning on going to the Haunted House and then Trick or Treating with their friends. We will have no kids tonight to even go to our ward Trunk or Treat. Oh well, a night out for us.

Exciting News!!!

My parents were just called to be Assistant to the President and Assistant to the Matron of the San Diego LDS Temple. (which is a counselor in the presidency, but they call them assistants)
They are very excited. This is their mission for the next 3 years. They wanted to go on a mission, but weren't sure what they were going to do and when. Guess they know now. They have been working in the temple for a few years and have been shift supervisors. A new President has been called and has asked for them to be assistants. My Dad will also be set apart as a Temple Sealer by one of the 12 Apostles which is very exciting.

I love this picture of them. Thanks for being such a great example to all of us Mom and Dad! We love you!!

stay tuned....

I have some VERY exciting news!!! I can't tell yet though so stay tuned....

Fall Break '08

fall break 08 Pictures, Images and Photos

It's Fall Break this week. The girls are out of school all week. They have already started filling up the days with things to do and places to go. They think they always have to be doing something and going somewhere.
Kylie did an awesome job on her talk yesterday at Stake Conf. Everyone told her what a good job she did. She had to sit on the stand right next to our visiting General Authority, Elder Hamula. He was an awesome speaker! At all of the sessions, he got up there with no notes and talked for an hour each time. Nate's Aunt and Uncle said they were proud to be related to Kylie and then Nate's cousin, Lynne, called and left a message on Kylie's cell phone telling her what an awesome job she did and how proud she was of her and that she should talk more often. I could tell she was nervous up there, but everyone else said she didn't even seem nervous. Great job Kylie!

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS.... :)

GO CHARTER!!

Kelsie and Brooke play their Championship basketball game tonight at the High School. They already won their league and went undefeated, but now they are having championship playoffs. We have already beat this team twice, but I am sure they will be after us tonight. The other night at the church, after yelling at Kelsie to get off her friends skateboard and stay off it till after the game tonight, she goes into the gym and plays basketball with the boys and what does she do? We thought she broke her finger, but her Doctor looked at it at school this morning when he dropped his daughter off and he thinks it is just a bad sprain. So she gets to play through the pain!!
GO CHARTER!!

update...

I know, I know, it's about time I update. I am getting bugged that I need to update. Sorry! Normal life still happens. One of the things keeping me busy is this...

Yes on Prop 8 Pictures, Images and Photos

Kelsie and Brooke also have their first tournament basketball game this afternoon. They had an undefeated season, so "should " win the tournament also. Brooke was so excited to make her first basket in a game at the last game. Remember she's only a 5th grader playing against 8th graders. GOOD LUCK KELSIE AND BROOKE!
***edited*** They won their game and now get to play for the championship at the high school on friday night. Yeah!! Against a team they have already beat twice. They should take it all!!

Our new wildlife

Well, not so new, we do see them, but 4? There were 4 of them chasing this cat.
They were after a poor white cat up in the tree. We don't even own a cat! If you click on this last pic, I think you can see it, just to the right of the tree trunk.
The girls are going to be bummed they were already in bed! I heard the raccoons or the cat. I don't know which. I wonder what they would have done to it. Raccoons make a weird purring noise though. I stood out there for awhile just watching them, till I was freezing! (They eventually went up higher and I coaxed the cat down and it got down safely and ran off for all of you cat lovers. I am not one of them. :)

Who are you?

You are thoughtful and care very deeply for your family. A loving home is of great importance to you and you always try to make people feel welcome. Although you have a great capacity to love, you also have a great capacity to hurt, so at times you can be sensitive. You're firm when you need to be, but people trust your judgment and appreciate the kind way you always handle things.

It's raining, it's pouring!!

Never thought I'd be so excited for it to rain! It's been a long summer and we never get ANY rain ALL summer!! YEAH! Of course it's raining and then heading onto UT. It's conference weekend. Doesn't it always rain or snow on conference weekend? Brooke came home and put her pj's and her slippers on. She thinks it's winter I guess. We were prepared though. We put the top on the Jeep last night and covered up the boat. Kylie said lots of people still had their tops off of their Jeeps at school. Sucks for them!

Kelsie's backpacking trip

I took these pics off of Kelsie's teachers site. Looks like they had fun on their backpacking trip.
Look at this awesome view they had.

Wow, Kels, nice picture! She told me that they had to do a skit and they were meatballs. She is a meatball! :) (She is the one on the right)
Kelsie and Brooke won another basketball game yesterday and Kelsie scored 14 points. She had 4 SWEEEET layups too! Good job girls!

BAM!!!

Just when I was thinking there was nothing to blog about... BAM!!! Literally!!No, this is not us....
But a young girl that must have been flying down the road by us. It was a nice Infinity car too.
Our windows were all open and it was so loud! I look out the window and see these flashing lights. Guess your hazards go off when the airbags go off, huh? Didn't know that. From what I heard, I knew someone had rolled. Kylie was going to bed, Nate was already in bed, they come running out, "What was that?" So, we jump in the Jeep and go down there. This poor girl was just coming to. A kid that Nate works with had just got there too, because it was almost on his property. She finally came to and was trying to get out. We couldn't get her out, so she started pushing the front window out. Nate and Timmy were trying to help her, but she wasn't being very cooperative. They finally were able to pull the windshield back and help her get out. Wow, scary for her. Hope she is OK. She was messed up though and high on something.
The funny thing is though, Kelsie and Brooke were in bed and they heard us leave and came out and we are all gone. They didn't know what was up. After a few minutes, they saw all of these flashing lights start to come. They tried to call me and I was on the phone with 911. They tried Kylie and her phone was home. They kept trying and trying to call and couldn't get anyone. Nate's phone was home too. Luckily I had grabbed mine, knowing we would be calling 911. Needless to say, they were a little bit scared not knowing what was going on. They finally did get me though. :)

Basketball Girlies

Here is Kelsie and Brooke in their basketball uniforms. Brooke is the youngest on the team. She holds her own though and gets alot of playing time. They have won all of their 5 games now and yesterday they won their game against the only other team that was undefeated in their league. Not anymore!! Kelsie has scored between 8-12 points every game. They have fun and it's even funner when you win!! Yeah!! Good job girls! Go Charter!!

Bundled up and Kylie's SO Lucky!!

This is what my girls look like anymore when we go anywhere in the Jeep at night. It is getting colder and Nate refuses to put his top on the Jeep. It's pretty funny. We have the heater going full blast and all bundled up.
Kylie is such a lucky girl! She got a phone call from the executive secretary in the stake tonight, actually they asked Nate first, but then he asked for Kylie and told her that the Stake President has asked if she would talk in Stake Conference in a couple of weeks. Isn't she so lucky? Glad it's her and not me. :)

Girls back home!!

Besides having no internet this last week, we were also down 2 girls for most of the week. Kylie was gone all week from Sunday night till today when I picked her up. She was a counselor at Science Camp for 6th graders. She did it last year too and she really enjoys it. She is glad to be home though. She can't wait to sleep in her own bed tonight.
Kelsie left Monday morning to go on a 3 day backpacking trip with her school class. They hiked about 12 miles between the 3 days and had to carry all of their food, sleeping bag, tent & everything else. Here she is the morning she left...
She survived! Here she is when I picked her up at school. Much lighter pack! She got to go straight to a basketball game from here too. She wasn't too happy I made her go, but atleast they won!
When she put on her much smaller backpack the next morning to go to school, she said, "I love you backpack." Much lighter and smaller than the one she had been carrying for 3 days. It was pretty funny!
